Compensation of Academic Loss Programme (CALP)

Objective: The Compensation of Academic Loss Programme (CALP) at Kendriya Vidyalaya BSF Raninagar is designed to bridge the academic gaps caused by disruptions like the COVID-19 pandemic or other crises affecting normal school schedules. The initiative aims not only to restore academic proficiency but also to promote the overall well-being of students.

    Key Focus Areas:

    • Addressing both academic loss and socio-emotional challenges.
    • Providing individualized learning interventions.
    • Leveraging digital tools and community support for a well-rounded educational recovery.

    Program Components:

    1. Diagnostic Assessments for Insightful Planning:
      • Purpose: Baseline assessments will be conducted across subjects to determine the degree of academic loss for each student.
      • Outcome: These assessments will guide the formulation of customized academic interventions based on students’ strengths and weaknesses.
    2. Personalized Learning Paths:
      • Action: Tailor specific learning plans for individual students according to assessment results.
      • Integration: Plans will include both remedial and enrichment activities, ensuring that each student not only catches up but also has opportunities for academic growth.
    3. Intensive Tutoring & Mentorship Support:
      • Support: Deploy extra tutoring for core subjects (Math, Science, Languages) to target foundational concepts.
      • Mentorship: Assign mentors to regularly check in on students’ progress, ensuring both academic development and emotional support, especially for those struggling with the return to regular schooling.
    4. Curriculum Enrichment & Interdisciplinary Learning:
      • Approach: Focus on engaging students through workshops, seminars, and projects that span multiple subjects. This interdisciplinary method not only reinforces core content but also fosters creativity and critical thinking.
      • Innovative Pedagogy: Incorporate interactive teaching techniques like problem-based learning, gamified education, and peer-led study sessions to keep students motivated.
    5. Digital Learning Resources & Tech Accessibility:
      • Tools: Equip students with access to digital platforms, apps, and e-resources for remote or supplemental learning.
      • Equity Focus: Ensure that every student, regardless of financial or technological barriers, receives the necessary tools (e.g., tablets, internet access) to participate in these digital initiatives.
    6. Parental Involvement and Empowerment:
      • Orientation: Regular sessions will be organized to help parents understand their role in supporting academic recovery at home.
      • Ongoing Communication: Establish an open channel of communication between parents and teachers to exchange feedback on the student’s progress, offering a collaborative approach to academic recovery.
    7. Health, Well-being, and Emotional Care:
      • Holistic Approach: Address not only academic concerns but also students’ mental and emotional health. Counseling sessions, mental health workshops, and mindfulness practices will be part of the curriculum.
      • Physical Fitness: Introduce fitness and recreational activities to keep students physically active, recognizing the connection between physical well-being and academic performance.
